My circuit breaker keeps tripping. What should I check?
First, make sure the heater is plugged directly into a wall outlet—not a power strip or extension cord. Also avoid sharing the same circuit with other high-wattage appliances such as microwaves, coffee makers, or hair dryers. If the problem continues after verifying your electrical setup, contact customer support.
How often should I clean the filter?
Inspect the filter about once a month. Homes with pets, smokers, seasonal allergies, or higher dust levels may require more frequent cleaning. Keeping the filter clean helps maintain proper airflow and heating performance.
Why did my heater shut off by itself?
The GEN40 PLUS includes built-in safety features that may temporarily shut the heater down if airflow becomes restricted, the filter is dirty, or the unit overheats. It may also shut off if the timer has been set. Allow the heater to cool, clean the filter, and verify that nothing is blocking the air openings before restarting.
Why does the display keep changing numbers?
This is completely normal. When you adjust the temperature, the display briefly shows your selected setting before automatically returning to the current room temperature.
Why isn't my GEN40 PLUS heating as well as it used to?
The most common cause is a dirty air filter. As dust builds up, airflow is reduced, which can affect heating performance. Check the rear filter monthly, vacuum it as needed, and make sure the air intake and outlet are free of dust and obstructions.
My remote control isn't working. What should I check?
First, make sure the battery tab has been removed, the batteries are installed correctly, and you're within about 20 feet of the heater. If the heater operates normally from the control panel but not the remote, replacing the batteries usually resolves the issue.
Is it normal for the front grille to feel warm?
Yes. The front grille may become warm during operation. This is expected and does not indicate a problem. Always allow adequate clearance around the heater while it's operating.
Why is my heater blowing cool air?
If the heater has just been turned on, the fan may begin operating before the heating element reaches full temperature. If you're using ECO Mode, the heater automatically cycles to maintain your selected temperature, so periods of little or no heat output are normal.
Why does the fan keep running after I turn the heater off?
This is normal. The GEN40 PLUS may continue running the fan briefly after the heating element turns off. This helps cool internal components and extends the life of the heater.
Why does my new heater have a slight odor?
A slight odor during the first few hours of operation is normal. This is caused by harmless manufacturing residues burning off during initial use and should disappear quickly. If the odor persists after several uses, discontinue operation and contact customer support.
