Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if my PolarAir won't turn on?

Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Try another outlet if necessary, then press the Power button again.

Why is my PolarAir running but the air doesn't feel cool?

Make sure there is water in the tank and Cool Mode is turned on. Allow time for the cooling pad to become fully saturated. For cooler airflow, add the included frozen ice packs or ice to the water tank.

What should I do if the airflow seems weak?

Increase the fan speed and make sure nothing is blocking the air inlet. If airflow is still weak, clean the washable filter and remove any dust buildup around the air intake.

Why is my PolarAir leaking water?

Make sure the water tank is installed correctly, the drain plug is completely closed and the tank has not been overfilled. The PolarAir should also be placed on a level surface during operation.

How should I store my PolarAir when I'm not using it?

Empty the water tank completely and allow both the tank and cooling pad to dry before storing the unit. Store the PolarAir in a cool, dry location to help prevent odors and keep it ready for the next season.

How often should I clean my PolarAir?

Wipe the water tank and exterior regularly and clean the washable filter about once a month. Inspect and rinse the cooling pad as needed and vacuum dust from the air intake to help maintain strong airflow and cooling performance.

Why doesn't my PolarAir cool as well as it used to?

Clean the filter and cooling pad and refill the tank with fresh, cold water. Using the included frozen ice packs can provide additional cooling. Keep in mind that evaporative cooling may be less noticeable when humidity is very high.

What should I do if the remote control isn't working?

Make sure any battery protection tab has been removed, point the remote directly toward the PolarAir and try again. If it still does not respond, replace the remote control battery.

What should I do if my PolarAir develops an odor?

Empty and rinse the water tank and clean the cooling pad. If the unit will not be used for several days, empty the remaining water and allow the tank and cooling pad to dry before storing.
